The Forest Tree

The forest tree that stands alone,

Though huge and strong and rooted fast,

Unable long to bear the blast

By furious winds is overthrown.

But trees that, growing side by side

A solid mass together form,

Each sheltering each,defy the storm

Falls, struck to earth by hostile hands,

But kinsmen true and safe remain.

Like lotus flowers in blooming pride

Who firmly each in each confide,

And each from each support obtain
